Marjowyn Vito is an artist based in the Philippines known for her distinct art style called Contrasegmentism.

Contrasegmentism is characterized by the deliberate separation of flat surfaces and textured volumes that are repeated within a composition to create contrasting segments of colors, textures, and emotions. By fragmenting her figures, the juxtaposition of flat, smooth, and orderly areas and freely created textured volumes gives the artwork dynamic tension and harmony, inviting the viewer to explore the fragmented yet unified whole.

Marjowyn  views painting as her platform to share messages close to her heart such as lifelong learning, kindness, and even key issues of our time including women empowerment, climate change, and peace. The artist believes in the power of the arts to a flourishing life.

After introducing Contrasegmentism in Art, Marjowyn wrote Live Art Battles which introduces Contrasegmentism in Literature. The book is written in 166 standalone poems with contrasting mediums of poetry yet forming part of one story.

The artist is also developing Contrasegmentism in Music with the theme song of Live Art Battles where rap is accompanied by an acoustic guitar and the lyrics carry poetic reflection contrasted with rap swagger.

Contrasegmentism which started as an art style is now evolving into a philosophy and a way of life.
