marjowyn vito

Marjowyn Vito is an artist based in Makati, Philippines. Her artwork can be recognized for its happy colors, often presenting backgrounds with yellow and blue tones, a burst of colors to represent the skin, and lavender-colored hair, which has been a constant element in her art. While the intent of her play of colors and textures is to instantly catch the eye, a closer look at her artworks tells stories that call for action. Marjowyn uses painting as her platform to share her advocacies, such as climate justice, lifelong learning, and kindness. The artist believes that a meaningful message can still be represented beautifully in a shade that looks happy. Her aspiration is to first make them look and intrigue them visually, then maybe observers can also be moved and be inspired to take action in their own little ways and on their own platforms no matter how small. For Marjowyn, it’s through art.
